Lilac: Anyways, I heard you paint.

Cumulus: The word’s been going around.

Lilac: Well, could I see you paint some? I have nothing else to do today?

Cumulus: Could I paint you?

Lilac: Ah, I don’t see why not. There’s a nice painting studio downstairs, if you want to paint down there.

Cumulus: Well, I guess I’m painting!

Lilac: You know, something intrigues me.

Cumulus: What?

Lilac: You have pointed ears.

Cumulus: I get that a lot. Maybe because my ears are pointy?

Lilac: Well, yes, but the maidens are depicted with pointed ears.

Cumulus: Maybe some fluke coincidence?

Lilac: Well, there are rumors that there are descendants of the maidens…

Cumulus: Ha, well, I am adopted. Wouldn’t that be funny?

Lilac: It would.

Lilac: Interesting, right?

Cumulus: Yes! I can’t believe I didn’t know this before! So this library was named after one of the maidens?

Lilac: Yup! Aquaria Library of Knowledge and Peace. Kind of a long title.

Cumulus: Must be why people just call it “The Library”

Cumulus: Legend of the maidens?

Rosemary: You’ve never heard it?

Cumulus: Legends aren’t very popular in Windenburg. We’re more realists there. But I’ve always been a fan of lore and legends.

Lilac: Well, the maidens are believed to control the earth, sea, and sky, and the ideals behind being a good person.

Cumulus: Really? It sounds interesting.

Lilac: I have work off tomorrow, so if you wanted to read more about it, we could go to the library.

Cumulus: I’d love to!

Cumulus: Wow, you weren’t kidding. These are the best fish and chips I’ve ever had.

Lilac: Now you won’t like any other restaurant’s fish and chips.

Cumulus: I can’t believe how nice you guys are to me. This whole town is very nice.

Rosemary: We’re known for kindness. Maybe because the legend of the maidens is rooted here.

Rosemary: Ya know, Cu, you never told us why you came to Waffle Creek.

Cumulus: Cu?

Lilac: She likes to give nicknames.

Rosemary: Cumulus is too long to say all the time.

Cumulus: Oh, um, ok. Well, I got a painting deal here, but I’ve always been drawn to here. I don’t know why, but it’s like a force pulling me.
