Rosemary: And after all this time, I still have feelings for her. I could almost say truly that I love her. But we aren’t dating now, so I would have to confess to her all over again. But I can’t.

Cumulus: Why not? You’ve done it before; I’m sure you can do it again.

Rosemary: Well, I can’t because…

Rosemary: Well, I didn’t lie to you, but I didn’t say the whole extent of Lilac and my story.

Cumulus: Well?

Rosemary: A couple of years ago, when Lilac and I were friends and were living in Berry Springs with our families, we had, well, feelings for each other. So we started dating.

Cumulus: I knew you guys liked each other! Why did you stop dating?

Rosemary: Well, I didn’t lie about our parents not liking us for dating someone that wasn’t of our own color, so after they took our puppy away, Lilac and I ran to Waffle Creek so we weren’t persecuted for our relationship. But after the whole ordeal, we decided we should stay friends for a while so we could settle.

Rosemary: Who was that?

Cumulus: It was my brother. He got a job at a high end restaurant in Windenburg. And he isn’t even out of college! I’m going to head out there so I can eat some delicious cuisine for free.

Rosemary: Sounds wonderful! Do you want to take Cupid with?

Cumulus: Really? Are you sure you guys are ok with me taking her away right after we got her?

Rosemary: Of course! She is your cat.

Cumulus: Great! I’ll try to catch a flight for one of these next couple days.

Rosemary: Sounds like a plan.
