A BOX OF MACARONS ~ A BERRY LEGACY CHALLENGE
So I have been wanting to write my own legacy challenge for quite a while, and I finally worked up to courage to do so! A Box of Macarons Legacy Challenge is a challenge designed to make the player use aspirations and traits they don’t usually do, and only with base game! All macaron flavors are from this site. No expansions required here! Rules are below the cut!~
Generation 1 – Key Lime
You’re new to town, and your geeky interior has now been masked by a cold, hard, exterior. You start the climb the ranks of a local crime organization, and date a couple of your fellow criminals. However, one day you run into a sim with a sunny disposition, and you can’t seem to get them out of your head. They start to melt your exterior, and you decide to quit your life of crime, turning to your love of video games and computers. You turn over a new leaf, and you’re ready to start a family with your love.
Aspiration: Public Enemy
Traits: Jealous, Self-Assured, Geek
Career: Criminal (Oracle Branch)
Spouse’s Career: Up to you!
- Move to a new world
- Join the criminal career
- Date 2-3 coworkers, but nothing serious
- Run into a sim (Periwinkle) with either the good, outgoing, or cheerful trait and quickly fall for each other
- Switch aspiration to Computer Whiz and switch career to Tech Guru (Either Branch)
- Max the Programming and/or Video Gaming Skill
- Marry (Periwinkle) and have at least two children
Generation 2 – Birthday Cake
You seem to be to be the perfect mix of your parents, and you use your strengths to (hopefully) become a world-renowned bartender. However, with your fixation on doing everything perfectly, it can frustrate you quite a bit. You want to be perfect before you dip your toe in the bartending world. In the end, you can always turn to your high school sweetheart for encouragement!
Aspiration: Master Mixologist
Traits: Perfectionist, Outgoing, Hot-Headed
Career: Culinary (Mixology Branch)
Spouse’s Career: Painting (Either Branch)
- Meet (Yellow) in school, start dating in high school, and stay together
- Marry (Yellow) when aged up to young adult
- Use other ways to earn money until level 5 of the mixology skill is reached
- When level 5 is reached, join the culinary career (mixology branch)
- Max Mixology Skill
- Have any number of children and adopt at least one of them
Generation 3 – Lemon
Unlike your parents, whose hobbies embrace the blandness of the indoors, you prefer the great outdoors! You love meeting new people wherever you go, and one day, while looking for the one last item for your collection, you meet ~the one~. Their active nature perfectly counteracts your clumsiness, and both of your drives for adventure make you a perfect match!
Aspiration: The Curator
Traits: Clumsy, Outgoing, Loves the Outdoors
Career: Selling collectables/plants/etc…
Spouse’s Career: Astronaut (Either Branch)
- Only sell a collectable if a duplicate is obtained
- Display at least one collection
- Meet (Pink) when you only have one item left in a collection
- Finish at least one collection
- Elope with (Pink) and try for baby in a rocket
- Have three children
Generation 4 – Strawberry Shortcake
You were always so indecisive on what to do, so why not do it all? Your childish nature may seem to pose a challenge to constantly switch jobs, but your smart mind and positive attitude always seems to power through. One day, you hook up with a sim after a night on the town, and you end up with a child. You and the other parent decide to stay together to raise the child, but neither of you are looking for a relationship with the other. You end up becoming good friends, though, and are arguably the best parents ever! (In your humble opinion)
Aspiration: Renaissance Sim
Traits: Genius, Cheerful, Childish
Career: Any career(s) to complete the aspiration
Spouse’s Career: Stay at home parent
- Reach level 10 in at least three skills
- Have a one night stand with (Coral) and either get pregnant or get them pregnant
- Live with (Coral) to care for the child, and become best friends
- Have one child
- Have child complete any child aspiration
Generation 5 – Carrot Cake
Your parents gave you the best life you could, and you enjoy just having it to yourself. You stay at home, writing books, alone, but you like it that way! However, when one of your books becomes a bestseller, you have to go out and face the world. It takes a bit to get used to, but then you meet an adoring fan of your work. You two hit it off well, and end up falling for each other. You get married and then are expecting soon after. When the time comes, though, you get more than you asked for!
Aspiration: Bestselling Author
Traits: Bookworm, Loner, Good
Career: Writer (Author Branch)
Spouse’s Career: Up to you!
- Don’t go out unless it is with family or for work
- Write a bestseller (whether or not it actually is doesn’t matter) and become well known
- Max writing skill
- Meet (Blue) while meeting fans and start to hang out with them, then date them
- Get married and try for baby the night of the wedding
- Have multiples, then any number of children after
Generation 6 – Cotton Candy
Although you grew up with your siblings by you, you always loved the family dynamic, and that’s what you wanted to do. You grew up wanting to be a parent, a caretaker, but romance was never really your thing. So, you adopt your children instead, and give them the best life you can. One day, though, you find yourself falling for a charming, goofy, fellow parent, the parent of your child’s friend, nonetheless! But, fate has a funny way of working sometimes…
Aspiration: Successful Lineage and/or Big Happy Family
Traits: Ambitious, Family-Oriented, Snob
Career: Stay-at-Home Parent
Spouse’s Career: Entertainer (Musician Branch)
- Have a good relationship with all family members
- Don’t be in any relationships growing up
- Adopt at least one child
- Fall in love with (White), the parent of the adopt child’s friend
- Marry (White) and have at least four children
Generation 7 – Cookie Dough
You appreciate the finer things in life, and dream of one day being a world-renowned chef. But, you don’t really have the drive to do so. However, a rivalry between you and another chef started motivating you to improve your skills, as well as acting on your romantic interests. Now, years later, you and your partner argue: who fell for each other first? (It was you, but you never want to admit it)
Aspiration: Master Chef
Traits: Foodie, Lazy, Romantic
Career: Culinary (Chef Branch)
Spouse’s Career: Culinary (Chef Branch)
- Take at least one vacation day a week
- Start a rivalry with (Magenta) (How you do this is up to you!)
- Stop taking vacation days once level 5 of career is reached
- Woo (Magenta) and end the rivalry
- Master cooking skill
- Have two children
- One child (not the heir) also becomes a chef
Generation 8 -Cosmopolitan
You loved your parents’ cooking growing up, but never liked making the food yourself, unlike your sibling. Instead, you enjoyed making people laugh, just like your grandparent! You travel all over to perform, meeting many new people, but you never expected that you’d see your old friend at one of your shows! But then again, maybe you’re more than friends?
Aspiration: Joke Star
Traits: Goofball, Glutton, Creative
Career: Entertainer (Comedian Branch)
Spouse’s Career: Up to you!
- Have a friend (Peach) move away as children
- Once aged up to young adult, travel around to perform comedy
- Make at least one good friend in each town/world
- Meet the friend (Peach) again and fall in love
- Master comedy skill
- Get married to (Peach) and have any number of children
Generation 9 – Crème brûlée
Unlike your parents’ “fairytale love story”, you never really liked the commitment of a relationship, so why not have all of the fun without the commitment? Besides, there’s no time for a relationship when you’re too busy painting! However, you might not be the most careful, so you end up with a few surprises along the way. How does this all end up? Well, that’s all up to you…
Aspiration: Serial Romantic
Traits: Noncommittal, Ambitious, Art Lover
Career: Either Painter (Either Branch) or Freelance Painter
Spouse’s Career: N/A
- Never stay in a long-term relationship
- Have at least one child with (Baby Blue) and one child with (Purple)

Generation 10- Sea Salt Caramel or Galaxy
You’re at the end of a legacy. And what better way to END a legacy by STARTING one? A music legacy, you mean. You want to be the best there is, and nothing will stop you now! What else is there to come?
