Now you must go. Through the tree you go. I will miss you, Cumulus, but I will see you again someday.

Although I’ll be gone, I won’t be forever. As my sisters before, I’ll watch over the world with them. But, when you are older, you may be able to come visit here. You see this well? I am the well. No, not now, but soon. My legacy will continue through you, my dear. The heir for each generation is allowed one wish from me. If their love is strong, I can make their dreams come true.
Cumulus, I wish I could stay with you, but I just can’t. Soon, I’ll be sending you to grow up in the real world, with a new family. I’ve picked one out for you. They are loving and are expecting a child. Perfect for you. Come walk with me.
The maidens were never destined to use their powers for all of eternity. So eventually, their power was running out when the world no longer needed it.
But the child continued to grow in love. When the sky maiden knew her time was ending, which had ended already for her sisters, she sat Cumulus down to talk.
Will you even remember this, my child? Or am I doing this all for nothing. It doesn’t matter, for maybe you’ll remember one day.
Now, of course, the magic of the maidens was not able to be passed on, so other than pointed ears, the girl did not possess any powers. Yet, the child seemed to have a natural ability to bring others close.
So she used her magic to make a child in her own image. This baby was filled with love and compassion, and the maidens loved her. The baby reminded her mother of the clouds, so she was named Cumulus.
Now, being a maiden was very lonely, and being so full of love and hope, the sky maiden did not want to sit around life alone with just her sisters; she wanted a child.
And Snowbell, the maiden of the sky, controlled dreams and love. There are rumors that looking at her will make you immediately fall in love with her. I personally believe that’s bogus. But she made wishes came true, and filled people’s minds with dreams and hope.
Aquaria, the maiden of the sea, controlled knowledge and peace. She listened to and understood people, and always wanted the people of the earth to aspire to learn more.
Leafana, the maiden of the earth, controlled truth and hard work. She was very, well, down to earth, pardon the joke. Her powers helped drive people to listen to their morals and to work hard to get things done.
