Aurora: I… I just don’t want one of them to think they’re better or worse than the other. I don’t want this legacy to ruin their friendship.

Cumulus: That’s very thoughtful of you, dear, but they have to know. They’re juniors in high school; they need to start planning for the future.

Aurora: You’re right, Mom. I’ll tell them when they get home from school.

Aurora: Wow. That’s… very deep. I’ve been thinking…

Cumulus: About your heir?

Aurora: What? How did you know?

Cumulus: I just know, dear. I know it’s one of the twins. You always have their hair covered up. Why is that? Why don’t you want their ears to show?

Aurora: More mature? What do you mean?

Cumulus: You aren’t trying to rush into things now. You have four wonderful children and an amazing husband. You’re no longer the young girl eager for something new all of the time. You appreciate what you have instead of wanting more.

Aurora: Don’t worry, girls. You’ll get your time with the cat. For now, I believe it’s a school night. Which means homework time.

Dusk: Mom…

Aurora: Don’t Mom me; I’m just making sure you don’t fail.

So life was good for the longest time. We were doing good. The star athlete and a wonderful performer with an audition for the main part in our school’s show.  Life. Was. Good.
